World Autism Awareness MONTH

Countdown to our event!

What is Autism awareness month & why is it important?

Autism is a lifelong developmental disability which affects how people communicate and interact with the world. Worldwide around 1 in every 100 people are on the autism spectrum.

In Northern Ireland, 1 in 21 children have a diagnosis of autism with figures from the NI Census 2021 recording 35,367 adults and children with an autism diagnosis in Northern Ireland.

Having Autism means your brain may work differently than other peoples. It is not an illness or a disease and approximately 1 in every 100 people are diagnosed with ASD (autism spectrum disorder) or Autism. Having Autism means that you may find it difficult to communicate  with other people, find it hard to understand how other people feel, find bright lights & loud noises uncomfortable or get overwhelmed with unfamiliar situations or social events.

Autism Awareness Month is April and its aim is to widen the understanding and inclusion of Autism. A child with Autism is not unwell, they are simply different and deserve to be included & have the same opportunities as those without Autism.

Our awareness Event!

Thanks to Evie, Ella, Hollie, Emma and Emily who hosted a bakesale for Autism NI right on our doorstep we thought we would help! So we teamed up and are holding a completely donation based event in aid of AutismNI and the Banbridge Autism Support Group on Friday 28th April from 4pm – 8pm!

What do you need to do to join in? Its EASY!

Support a good cause

So why not come along and say hello to the girls & have a fun filled, action packed hour of fun with Evie’s brother Harry, the star of the show and the girls inspiration behind the bakesale? ALL WHILE SUPPORTING A GOOD CAUSE?

You can even take part in a raffle held by the girls on the night!

More and more people are being diagnosed with Autism every single day and we all believe that just because your brain may work a little different than somebody else’s doesnt mean your worth any less!
